January is a great time to start thinking of ways to refresh your social media branding - it’s the New Year and although everyone already knows, your business might not. Start this year with a brand new outlook on your business, think about what it is that you want to accomplish and do it.

Undoubtedly, social media is a large part of your business and with that said, don’t leave it behind. There’s no reason for your social media to be stuck in last year - give it the much-needed life it needs with our top social media advertising tips.

Advertise on Facebook and Twitter

In the last decade, Facebook and Twitter have become an extremely popular and reliable way of advertising, so why not exploit this? Whether it’s a special event or just spreading the word about your business in general, advertising is a great way to attract new customers which may potentially lead to more sales or enquiries. After all, that's the ultimate goal! That being said, its biggest benefit is that anything and everything uploaded to either platform is shareable, meaning that whatever you're posting has the potential to reach a much wider target audience.

Advertising through social media is a great way to attract new customers whilst still keeping existing ones interested. If you don’t use social media, there's no better time than the present to get started. On the other hand, if you’re already doing it, have you considered a refresh to keep things current?

Advertise new and upcoming events to attract different customers. People are always looking for something unique to do but there isn’t any way they would know about your event unless you advertise it. Alternatively, advertise any offers or sales that you might be having to encourage customers to return in the future.

Encourage Interaction

The great thing about social media for business is that it gives customers the opportunity to share their opinions, but this shouldn’t be feared. In fact, it should be encouraged, and it’s especially useful when it comes to events. Whilst you are advertising your business and events through social media, this allows people to comment and share information about the event, like if they are going and explain why they think others should attend. This is a great reason to start or continue to advertise on social media.

Include a Call to Action

Regardless of the nature of your business, you will always want your advertising to direct customers to your business rather than your competitors. Of course, that is what advertising is all about, to attract customers! By adding a call to action, you can make them feel like they need to check it out. For example, your event advertising could have a call to action for customers to visit the site for more information. Not only is this helpful to you because it means more customers but it’s also very practical as the advertisement doesn’t need too much information because the original page will have it all.
